Who we are:
An entirely women-run operation, Kid’s Junction is much more than a consignment store – it is a community, and we are as committed to you as you have been to us. In these difficult times, we want to give back by helping you and your children feel good about how you shop and how much you are spending. We help find a home for character-filled treasures from around the neighborhood, from clothing to toys to everything in between. With these items, your child can pick and choose how they want to express themselves, while always staying under budget, shopping sustainably, and finding totally unique items for any occasion. Whether you’re shopping with us or consigning, you’re directly supporting a member of our community. Our selections are ever-changing throughout the seasons. We offer a wish list and accept drop offs for all seasons all year long for your convenience. Help us continue to better support you by consigning with or shopping at Kid’s Junction. Become a part of the family and experience the joy today!
What we believe:
Since 1997, we have remained committed to our core values even as ownership has switched hands. These include being mother-operated for over 20 years, giving back to the local community in the heart of Hackettstown, New Jersey, and supporting the environment throughout our journey by reducing clothing waste and promoting more sustainable shopping.
What makes us different?
Our owner comes with her own unique story:
"After working in the corporate world of finance for about 20 years, I took a leap of faith and made a dramatic career change when I made my childhood dream of owning a small business a reality. As a mom to a brilliant and witty boy, I understand the yearly struggle of finding your fast-growing child new clothes year after year. This, combined with my love for my local community and passion for meaningful, fulfilling work led me to save the beloved Kid’s Junction from permanent closure in December 2019. But, just before I opened KJ’s doors in the spring, COVID-19 hit small businesses like ours, and hard. Like others in our community, we’ve made sacrifices and had to learn and adapt quickly."
During the pandemic, we’ve had a lot of time to think about how we want to re-energize KJ. One of our main priorities is to renew our store’s commitment to gender and size inclusivity. We want to provide for the community as a whole, and we see this as one of the areas where we can improve to better deliver for our family. We are open to suggestions on how to make our presence a better experience for you. Our resilience and grit have allowed us to weather the storm, and while we continue to fight to keep our doors open, we hope that you will continue to believe in our mission and our leadership as much as we do. KJ is only as strong as its community; let's be 2020 strong together!
